And without zooming in 100% it's hard to compare two images to figure out which one has better focus. Thankfully PL5/Pureraw comparability for OM-1 files is only a few weeks away! Next step is to open the raws with OM Workspace and export them as tiffs to the same folder. My remaining final selection of 2* keepers are then copied from the card to a folder on my iMac. I then filter so that only 2* are shown and run through a second time giving any I want to reject from the initial pass a 1*. I use it to run through the images on the sd card, giving any keepers a 2* rating.
I think you may be using FastRawViewer the wrong way. All I really want is copies of Faststone and DXO PureRaw which accept OM-1 raws and I can go back to my very basic workflow which worked so well in my previous life. I suppose I could try converting the whole lot to DNG and then reviewing in Faststone and then deleting by doing a normal raw conversion using Affinity photo which also does not take OM-1 raws directly but always does a decent enough job when I feed it my DXO pureraw dngs. Now shall I just bite the bullet and convert all the remaining pics using OM workspace, I suspect that will take time and I don't know what results OM Workspace is going to give me. So I still have a lot of pictures to review before I push them through a raw conversion and no good way of doing it. So I start again with OM Workspace and wow some of these shots really are good. I did a bit of chimping this afternoon and I thought I had had some good successes so back to the camera and sure enough, my pics are nothing like as bad as FastRawViewer was suggesting and some look pretty good. The problem however is that all my pictures are rubbish and although deleting was the purpose of the exercise, I was deleting nearly everything. As the name suggests it does a decent job at reviewing although deleting is a bit clunky. It was suggested I use Olympus Workspace but as far as I can see, versatile as it maybe, reviewing and deleting isn't it's strong point. I normally inspect and delete my raws using Faststone but that doesn't work with OM-1 raws. Having a lot of trouble controlling bursts and ended up taking 2500 pics. The CAF was so good it was frightening, I followed birds for a long time and retained the box when using bird detect. Switched to raw and went out for another session this afternoon. I've been tearing my hair and was about to throw my OM-1 out of the window.įirst pictures taken as jpegs disappointing.
